Nate is still making leaps and bounds when it comes to mobility. He now moves on the floor like a pro and goes from prone to sitting effortlessly.
His major interest recently has been holding onto things and standing up. When he gets to his feet, he's wobbly but fearless, banging on the top, babbling proudly or taking a hand off to pick something up. Last night he even started cruising - moving along the edge that he had grasped.
I wonder if this is the nature of boys. Lily seemed to develop these skills slowly and steadily, so new things would appear every couple weeks. She'd gracefully approach anything new and never was into crawling. Nate's motors skills have grown rapidly. He has a passion and fearless drive to go in whatever direction he's pointed.
It was always my belief that while Nate was a easy-going baby, the toddler years would be hell, and that looks to have been an accurate guess. The baby-proofing and child gates that were never necessary for Lily were likely wise investments after all. We have our work cut out for us.
