Late Night TV

We have  32-inch flat screen television mounted on the wall in the bedroom.   It displays a crisp high definition image and gets a couple hundred channels.  We turn it on once a week, at the most.

The TV we watch every night and often during the day is about 4 or 5 inches.  It is black and white and it's the old un-flat type that our kids will likely know only as elements of some bygone era, like my generation might see a vacuum tube radio.   This television gets two channels - up from one channel just a couple weeks ago.

The first channel is Lily.   We were addicted to this channel for the past couple years (seasons?).   This is the first thing we turn on after she falls asleep, and it allows us to determine if she's really awake (or just restless).   This channel actually had gotten somewhat boring, until last night, when falling out of bed became possible.

The second channel is Nate and it's in its first season.   His camera isn't mounted on the wall yet (a best place hasn't been determined), so it sits in the corner of his crib.   The view is always an extreme closeup, and at times he even appears life size on the tiny screen.

So, this little box - the 'monitor' - is our comfort at all hours, our bedroom night light and gives us our magical power of omnipresence.   I can't imagine life without TV.
